Community Values

BEYOND 2025: Being Many is an invitation to exchange, collaborate, and rethink how we come together. Co-hosted by Culture Action Europe, Club Silencio and Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, this gathering is shaped by collective participation, openness, and the richness of diverse perspectives.

We believe it’s important to create an environment that nurtures dialogue, listening, and shared responsibility. To cultivate an inclusive and open gathering that is reflective of the values we uphold, we invite participants to embrace the following principles:

• Make space for others, listen actively, and engage with curiosity and care. Allow all speakers and participants to complete their statements without interruption. Respect that many in the room may not be speaking in their native language.

• Use the language that individuals prefer when referring to their gender, disability, or identity. If in doubt, ask respectfully.

• Recognise that we all bring unique histories, traditions, and ways of knowing to the conversation. Embrace moments of challenge and contradiction, recognising that the diversity of thought enriches our collective exploration.

• If someone is using access support, communicate directly with them. If a participant is using a wheelchair, be mindful of your physical positioning in conversation.

• Respect personal space. Always ask for permission before physical contact or moving into someone’s space.

• Self care is community care! Take breaks and recharge as you need to be able to sustain yourself and energy inside and outside of the gathering.
